NATHAN TYSON

Dr. Nathan Tyson is currently serving as Treasurer of EASL. He has served as a board member and Treasurer since the Evaluation Association of St. Louis was incorporated.

Early on he worked with the Board of Directors, as well as the IRS, to make EASL a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization. Nathan continues to implement revenue and expenditure processes that achieve high levels of consistency, transparency and accountability.

Professionally, he serves the students, staff and families of the Parkway School District. After spending years in schools as a teacher and principal, he joined Parkway as Coordinator of Program Evaluation. Three years later Dr. Tyson was promoted and now serves as Director of Data Management, Research and Enrollment. In his current position, Nathan helps with surveys, data analysis, data collection, enrollment projections, registration, student records, program evaluation, focus groups, research studies and data visualization, among other things.

Dr. Tyson has authored several articles in Principal Leadership magazine, a publication of the National Association of Secondary School Principals. His first two articles, “My First Duty is to the Ship” and “Five Rules of Engagement: Effectively Communicating with Challenging Persons,” were published in 2006. His third article, “The Administrative Team: Dynamism vs. Dysfunction,” was published in 2008. The “five rules” were condensed and published by Education Digest.

Dr. Tyson received a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and History from Washington University. He received his Master of Arts in Education Administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and he earned his Doctor of Education from Saint Louis University in 2008.

Nathan resides with his wife and children in Wentzville, Missouri.
