RICK MOORE
Currently the Associate Director for Faculty Programming at the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at Washington University in St. Louis. In my previous position at the CTL, I was the Assistant Director for Assessment and Evaluation. I also teach as a lecturer in the Department of Sociology.
At WashU, I am the “assessment and evaluation” person at the CTL. This means that when questions or issues come up in these areas that are broadly related to teaching and learning, I’m the person who helps out. In practice, this spans the range from campus-wide surveys and program evaluation to helping individual faculty measure student learning in their courses.
I have a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago and completed a postdoc in the sociology department at Cornell University. I’ve been a member of EASL since 2022 and have enjoyed conversing with others doing evaluation work in the St. Louis region. As board member, I would work to ensure that our organization continues to grow and thrive, as well as remain welcoming to individuals from diverse identities, backgrounds and career paths.
