Description:

Dr. Guili Zhang, co-author of The CIPP Model: How to Evaluate for Improvement and Accountability, will familiarize participants with designing and conducting sound evaluations using the updated CIPP Evaluation Model. The workshop will school participants in the current, updated version of the CIPP Model; acquaint the participants with selected checklists contained in the CIPP Evaluation Model book (design, budgeting, contracting, reporting, and metaevaluation); engage groups of participants to use an illustrative RFP to apply the design checklist in planning a context, input, process, or product evaluation and to assess their completed design against the metaevaluation checklist; and provide participants with relevant follow-up materials to make sure they depart the workshop with information on how to obtain additional information and assistance related to applying the CIPP Model.


Presenter:

 Dr. Guili Zhang is a nationally and internationally recognized professor, researcher, evaluator, and education leader. Dr. Zhang co-authored The CIPP Evaluation Model book with Dr. Daniel Stufflebeam. She is currently a Board of Directors member of the American Evaluation Association, and an Advisory Board Member of the American Journal of Evaluation. Dr. Zhang is Professor and Department Chairperson of the Department of Special Education, Foundations, and Research in the College of Education, East Carolina University. She received a Ph.D. in Research & Evaluation Methodology from the University of Florida, and postdoctoral advanced faculty training on statistical analysis of large-scale data from Stanford University. She has led the evaluation of many national programs and projects to assess various imperative and innovative educational initiatives, and has presented and published extensively at the national and international levels.
