Learn how to convene a collaboration of health care and non-profit partners to conduct a comprehensive community health needs assessment to better listen to the voices of your community. Pull together learnings from community surveys, focus groups and other primary data collection along with available secondary health data to compare to those of your state and the broader United States. Then utilize different techniques for pinpointing the actual prioritized community needs to focus on for your organization and/or larger coalition of stakeholders.

Rocco Gonzalez started his public health career while at Saint Louis University (SLU) for his Bachelor in Science for Public Health and International Studies. Mr. Gonzalez then continued at SLU for a Masters in Public Health, joint concentrating in Epidemiology / Maternal and Child Health. After focusing on health department intervention research, he pivoted to the private healthcare sector at BJC Healthcare. There Mr. Gonzalez developed and evaluated youth health education programming embedded in school curriculum leveraging Tableau as the data visualization. Then he continued the healthcare journey within the Community Health department of Mercy (St. Louis, MO). This expanded the reach and scope of strategic planning, data analytics and evaluation towards population health management. At the same time, Rocco Gonzalez Consulting LLC was developed in an effort to ensure efficiency and expand capacity within community development non-profits. Mr. Gonzalez continues to innovate care for the underserved through essential social determinants of health transformation from both the healthcare and community-based organization sectors.
