Digital Accessibility 101 provides a practical introduction to digital accessibility for program evaluators, breaking down key concepts, requirements, and everyday practices into manageable steps. Participants will explore why accessibility matters, common barriers in digital communications, and simple ways to make websites, documents, and other content more inclusive. The session emphasizes progress over perfection and gives program evaluators practical tools they can begin using right away to create clearer, more accessible experiences for all stakeholders.

Janaca Scherer is the Communications Director for Special School District (SSD), leading strategic communications for public education model that provides special education for all public school districts in St. Louis County. Janaca is particularly passionate about digital accessibility and has helped guide SSD through significant changes in accessible communication practices, translating complex ADA Title II and WCAG requirements into practical, manageable approaches for school communicators. Her work emphasizes progress, sustainability, and the belief that accessibility is more than a compliance requirement; it is an essential part of inclusive communication that builds trust and helps ensure every student and family can access the information they need.
